MY DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE

In 1776, the thirteen American colonies declared they were to form a new country, independent or separate from Great Britain. Although they were across the ocean from Great Britain, Great Britain still owned them. The Declaration of Independence states how horrible Great Britain had treated them and why they did what they did. In 1774 representatives from 12 of the 13 colonies met. The fourth of July, also known as Independence Day, is celebrated because of this movement. The declaration of independence explains that all men should have rights, and one shouldn't have less than these rights because we all deserve these rights. Great Britain was reminded and warned several times of how they wanted things to be different.
